IDT Corporation Announces Major Geographic Expansion for its European Prepaid Calling Cards

Company to Introduce its Flagship "Unity Card" in Belgium, Ireland, Sweden and Spain as European Unit Continues its Aggressive Growth

NEWARK, N.J. - July 19, 2000 - IDT Corporation (NASDAQ: IDTC) today announced that IDT Europe, its European telecom subsidiary, is expanding its highly successful "Unity Card" into four new European markets, as the Company continues its rapid growth in the retail telecom sector. IDT is a leading multinational carrier, telephone company and Internet service provider. IDT Europe, with headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, provides carrier services and retail products to its growing base of European clientele.

Starting this month, IDT Europe's Unity card, the Company's flagship pan-European calling card product, will be launched in four additional countries - Belgium, Ireland, Sweden and Spain. With this geographic expansion, IDT's prepaid phone cards will be available in nine European countries. The cards are available in a range of denominations, quoted in both Euros and national currencies, and are targeted toward the various market segments and ethnic communities that are frequent purchasers of IDT's calling card products.

"This product expansion is confirmation of IDT Europe's growing strength and visibility in the European marketplace," said Yoav Krill, Managing Director for Europe. "Judging from the enthusiastic response our prepaid phone cards have received among retailers and customers in the other countries where they are sold, we are confident these new markets will provide lucrative opportunities for the growth of our retail operations.

Since its launch last year, IDT Europe's Unity card has become one of the most successful prepaid calling cards in the European market. The Unity card offers highly competitive rates as well as convenience and ease-of-use. The Unity Card is also sold in the UK, France, the Netherlands, Austria and Germany.

"In less than two years, IDT Europe has proven itself to be a leading innovator and competitive player in the European marketplace," said Howard Jonas, IDT's Chairman and CEO. "The creative retail products being introduced in Europe, along with the rapid expansion of IDT's international wholesale carrier operations, are positioning the Company for explosive growth in the European marketplace."

IDT is a leading facilities-based multinational carrier that combines its position as an international telecommunications operator with its experience as an Internet service provider to provide a broad range of telecommunications services to its wholesale and retail customers worldwide.

Through its own telecommunications backbone and network infrastructure IDT provides its customers with integrated and competitively priced international and domestic long distance, pre-paid calling cards, Internet access and Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) service. The Company's Ventures division is developing several innovative telecom and Internet related businesses.
