IDT Corporation Announces Opening of Dublin, Ireland Debit Operations Center

State-of-the-Art Facility to Serve as Regional Operations Center for IDT Europe's Telecom Products and Services

NEWARK, N.J. - March 8, 2000 - IDT Corporation (NASDAQ: IDTC) today announced the opening of its Debit Operations Center in Dublin, Ireland, to oversee the design, manufacture and printing of IDT Europe's prepaid calling and debit card products for its growing base of European clientele. The Dublin staff will also handle all back-room operations, including invoicing/billing, shipping, activation, quality control and technical assistance for IDT's European distributors.

IDT Corp. is a leading multinational carrier, telephone company and Internet service provider. IDT Europe, with headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, provides traditional IDT products to its customers on the European continent.

"The Dublin center is just the latest move by IDT to take on the European market," said Howard Jonas, IDT's Chairman and CEO. "In less than two years, we have established a solid and growing presence in the region. The Dublin facility will play a key role in supporting the operations of IDT Europe's headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, and its Sales Center in London as they branch out aggressively in the European marketplace."

Dublin facility can handle customer and distributor inquiries in thirteen different languages, including English, Spanish, French, Dutch, Norwegian, Finnish, Portuguese, Hindi and Mandarin Chinese. IDT's rechargeable prepaid calling card products are available in ten local European currencies, as well as the Euro, the new currency of the European Union.

The Dublin staff is currently managing the production and distribution of over forty different IDT calling card products in the region, and is supported by its online connection to IDT Europe's headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

"I'm extremely proud that the Dublin Debit Center is the most efficient operations center of its kind in the industry," remarked Yoav Krill, IDT's Senior Vice President of Global Telecom and Managing Director for Europe. "Our creative team can take a new calling card product from design to production and have it in the hands of the consumer in just ten days. That's an incredible turn around time in this industry."

In addition, the Dublin center will be responsible for providing IDT's customers in Ireland with the company's traditional suite of telecommunications products and services, including its calling card products, carrier services, and long distance at competitive rates. IDT Corp. was granted a license at the end of last year by the Irish Republic to operate as a telecom company in the country.

"The Dublin center is a significant addition to IDT's rapidly growing operations in the European marketplace," said Jim Courter, President of IDT. "It underscores IDT's commitment to making major inroads in this dynamic and growing region."

The Dublin Debit Operations Center is the second major European facility the company has established this year. IDT last month announced the opening of its European Call Super Center in Brussels, Belgium, to serve as a regional customer service hub for IDT Europe's telecommunications products.

IDT is a leading multinational carrier that combines its position as an international telecommunications operator with its experience as an Internet service provider to provide a broad range of telecommunications services to its wholesale and retail customers worldwide.

Through its own national telecommunications backbone and network infrastructure IDT provides its customers with integrated and competitively priced international and domestic long distance, pre-paid calling cards, Internet access and Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) service.
